Simple Routine Task (1)

Hello everyone! Welcome to my blog!

So, in this post I would like to explain to you about our very first material in 11th Grade which is "Simple Routine Task". Before we come to the material, let's watch this video first.

That's the example of describing simple routine task. So, what does it mean by simple routine task? That is the activity that we do everyday on our life from the moment we wake up until we sleep. We don't only tell what our activity is but also at what time and how we do it. For example, "I always get up at 4 o'clock in the morning. After that, I pray Subuh and recite Qur'an for 15 minutes."

In describing simple routine task, we use "Simple Present Tense" for the sentence structure and "adverb" to explain more about the activity. Let me tell you about the tenses first. 

From the infographics above, it can be seen how to use Simple Present Tense for positive, negative and affirmative sentences. For the verbs used by subject "she, he, it" there are rules to change the verbs. Look at the table below to see the rules!

Now, look at the infographics below, it shows the example sentences of simple present tense.

From the example above, there are words such as "everyday, twice a day, every morning, every weekend, etc." to be used as the adverbs to explain more about our activity.  List of the adverbs in English can be seen from the infographics below.

Now, let's see the example of "Simple Routine Task"

Example

Hello, my name is Doni and this is my daily routine. I wake up at 5 o'clock in the morning. Then, I pray Subuh and recite Qur'an for 15 minutes. After that, I go to the bathroom to take a shower and brush my teeth. Then, I get dressed and brush my hair. I also make the bed before I leave my bedroom. At 6 o'clock I have breakfast. Sometimes, I eat some slices of bread and a glass of milk but sometimes my mother cooks me a plate of friedrice. At 6.30 a.m. I go to school by bike. I take classes and study at school. I have lunch at 12 o'clock then I pray Dzuhur at school's mosque with my friends and my teachers. After that, I continue the study until 4 p.m. then I go home. I take a shower as soon as I arrive at home. Then, I pray Ashar. Normally, I play with my friend outside or play handphone until 6 o'clock. Then, I pray Maghrib and have dinner with my family. After that, I help my mother wash the dishes. Then, I do my homework and prepare my books and school's uniform for the next day. Finally, I go to bed at 10 p.m.
